The addition

Our new addition is finally here...Barton Macy Baesler (aka spike if you ask Mace). Barton was born on Nov 11 at 2 a.m. and was 7 lbs 1 oz and 20 inches long.
The story:
I went to the dr on Tuesday (Nov 10) for a final check up. Everything was looking good, except my progression (but what does that matter anyway right). We discussed if the baby didn't come on the due date how long would we let him go and we didn't want to wait too long, for given reasons. The dr called the hospital and the hospital was booked until the later the next week unless we wanted to go in that evening. At 6 pm we arrived at Mckay-Dee and we started the inducing. Baby B didn't like the drug (we thought), every time I had a contraction his heart rate would go down. They lowered the dose of the drug and that seemed to work for a time. I even had my water broke...but as time went on the fluctuating heart beat continued. Finally they took me off the drug and he still was having problems. They ran me in for an emergency c-section, which ended up being a good thing because the cord was wrapped 2 times around Barton's neck. 20 minutes later I was already stitched up and Barton was doing fine. Mace went in for the c-section and I thought for sure he'd be down on the ground, but he held it in and stayed conscious the whole time :-)
